Orchids & Pearls Mermaid

Hi again,
I hope everyone is well and getting ready for Christmas it will be here before we know it.  I decided to share another mermaid I finished today.  I didn't put her in a card form yet because I think I am going to frame some of these that I make and give them as gifts since everyone loves them so much ;)
I used the image "Orchids & Pearls Mermaid" from Diana Martin Studio she has such beautiful images you can see them here ~http://www.etsy.com/shop/DianaMartinStudio .
~The Details~
I colored the image with pastel pencils and used pearlescent chalks for the background ... it was then sprayed with fixative to keep it from smearing.   Then I used green and white gel pens for the mermaids eyes, her lips were done with smooch accent inks.  Her tail and mermaid body were glittered with red and silver. Her hair was done with peach and brown glitter. Her mermaid top was made by gluing on red Rox and shaping them by hand.  I then glued on all the silver beads and rhinestones along with the shells.  Her flowers are Prima flowers with a red pearl flower center added.  I did her in red and silver because it seemed more Christmas like to me.  Hope you like my glittery creation and thanks for looking ;)

ps ~ I added 4 pics so you can see how the glitter looks when it is in different lighting ;)

I Love To Dance Mermaid Times Two

I figured it has been waaay too long since I have posted... I have been busy with my Etsy store and I didn't feel well for awhile my fibromyalgia was being stubborn again.   I thought I would share two mermaids I did this week.  This is an image from Diana Martin Studio named "I Love To Dance" I did one in a darker red hair with greens and the other in a lighter red hair with silver and golds.  You can get the image here http://www.etsy.com/listing/81908752/i-love-to-dance-digital-stamp-mermaid  Diana has lots of other wonderful images also.
~ The Details ~
I took a picture of before and after for this one also so you can see the difference and how much detail actually goes into making these little creations. ;)   I did the background with my pearlescent chalks and then colored everything with colored pencils. One mermaid in greens the other in golds and silvers.  Her hair and mermaid body were then glittered and her top was decorated with glass glitters and beads on both.  Hope you like them and Thanks for looking ;)

Wendi Shaker Box Fall Card --- Sweet Pea Stamps Card Contest Entry

Hi Everyone,
I have been really busy with store stuff but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to do this card contest for Sweet Pea Stamps !!!  If you haven't been over to their store here is the link to go stop over and check it  out  ;) http://www.sweetpeastamps.com/  they are having some really great dollar day sales and they have just gotten in a bunch of new images from their talented artists.

Now for the details on my card ~
I used the Elaine Cox image "Wendi" .  I just love how pretty she is and I had a fun time coloring her with my watercolor pencils and then glittering her up.  I did 2 images of her since I made a shaker card and then I popped her up.  Her hair was glittered with coffie and copper metallic glitter by Stuff by David.  http://stores.ebay.com/stuffbydavid?_rdc=1 The rest of her, her dress, the pumpkin, the flowers, leaves, etc. were glittered with pearl glitters by Stampendous.  The pumpkin was also covered with glossy accents to make it look more real.  Her little kitty was done in fun flock.  The shaker is a Scotch display box and the shaker part consists of maple leaf confetti and bitty beadies in yellow, gold, orange and clear. (see close-up pics, I have one showing it all shook up)  The metallic silver and orange paper are from Colorbok and the spiderweb paper is from GCD Studios -- Spooked tablet.  I put Kaiser Kraft  paper blooms from their sunset and butter cream collections around the outside of the shaker to frame it.  I also put some leaves I had bought at the thrift store in with them.  To finish this card off I added the spider web photo corners by Martha Stewart, the glittery flat backs in yellow-orange, the "who's there?" sign and the little spider.  I think it came out pretty cute.  How do you like her?    Thanks for taking the time for looking at my latest glittery creation. ;)

Seeing Double of Exotic Halloween ;)

Hi everyone,
Hope this Friday finds everyone well.  Even though it is still hot and humid here in Florida, I decided it was time to get back to the glitter and making some Halloween card creations ;)   I wasn't sure I liked how my first one of this awesome image from Ching-Chou Kuik titled "Exotic Halloween" came out.  I was sure I put too much orange in it so ... I decided to color and do up another one in purple and green.
You can purchase this gorgeous image here at Sweet Pea Stamps http://www.sweetpeastamps.com/catalog.htm  they have lots of other wonderful images too. ;)

~ The Details ~
I colored both of the backgrounds with my pearlescent chalks and the images were colored with watercolor pencils before being glittered.  I only used sparkly black glitter in her hair on both images.  I used pearl glitters from Stampendous on her dress.  Smooch accent inks were used on the pumpkins, candles and bones. A black glaze pen was used for her necklace and cross.  I also added little rhinestones for her earrings and jewels on her dress.
On the purple one -- she has Martha Stewart spider web photo corners, little spiders, and tulle in white and purple that I glued under the image. (let me tell you it was not as easy as I thought it was going to be lol )
On the orange one -- I sprayed my tattered angels spray in Black magic on a square doily and folded it under after it dried then I used the white cut out and added the swirly pearl stickers and black jewels in the corners.
Which is your favorite ?  Thanks for looking at my 2 latest glittery creations ;D

Glittery "Garden Of Nautilus" Another Beautiful Digi Image ;)

Hi everyone,
It has been raining here in Florida for 2 days straight ... perfect for staying in and crafting ;)  I finished the image I was working on for a wonderful friend who just had a brand new healthy baby boy.  I thought this one from Diana Martin Studio was perfect it is titled " Garden of Nautilus Mermaid".  I love how she captured the love between the mother and baby.  You can find more of her great images and artwork here http://www.etsy.com/shop/DianaMartinStudio?ref=seller_info.  Now for the details.

~The Details~
First I sprayed the image with some fixative because I noticed that even though I am using HP ink it was still bleeding a little ... but I do a lot of blending so that could have something to do with it.  I colored the image with my pearlescent chalks and colored pencils blending well.  After that I applied my glitter colors.  I didn't pay attention to the colors I used in this one I just grabbed quite a few different ones from my glitter stash.  I did use the smooch accents for the bottom of the scene and the shells and her jewelry.  I added half pearls and rhinestones to her hair and jewelry to finish the image. I layered several different papers (the light green one I made with my tattered angels sprays) and put some ribbon with flowers behind the image for this card. The little plaque on the bottom says "I will love you forever"  I thought this went well and finished the card off nicely.  Hope you like it and thanks for looking at my latest glittery creation ;)

Glittery "Almost Time Mermaid" Digi Stamp By Diana Martin Studio

Hi Everyone,
As promised I have a new card for you today and it is a great image!! Another beautiful one from Diana Martin Studio  http://www.etsy.com/shop/DianaMartinStudio?ref=seller_info I have attached her link for you to go and see what wonderful images she has.  The one I decorated is titled "Almost Time" and it is of a pregnant mermaid waiting for her new baby.  Now on to the details ;)

~The Details~
Since these are digital images I don't use my watercolor pencils like I normally would but I do color the background and the skin tones with my pearlescent chalks and then I use regular colored pencils just blended well.  All the glitter I used this week was from Stuff by David http://stores.ebay.com/stuffbydavid?_rdc=1  the link for his store is attached.  The tiny half pearls I used in her hair, and on her top and on the gold mesh ribbon are from his store as well.  The glitter colors I used were the following : her hair ~ metallic coffie, her mermaid body ~ metallic purple, midnight blue, laser blue and her tail was done in baby blue iridescent.  The plants, sand and fish were colored with my smooch accent inks.  I added real sand dollars, starfish and shells and gold rox by judith.  The background paper with the blue and green was made with my tattered angels sprays.
I like how she turned out but that is because I love doing glitter this way !!! ;D   Hope you like her too and thanks for looking at my newest glittery creation ;)

My Treasured Exotic October

Hi again,
I decided to share the other card I finished yesterday ... it is another image by Ching-Chou Kuik titled "Exotic October"  I love this image !!  The way my background came out it reminded me of her being in a dungeon or something especially with the candles.  So that gave me the idea to add the key hole and the key (I had just bought the keyholes).  I added the treasure to the top because I think someone locked her up as someone to treasure just for themselves.  Twisted right ;)

~ The Details ~
The image was stamped in Jet Black Staz-On ink and then watercolored and chalked with pearlescent chalks.  After that she was glittered and then matted on paper that I made with some of my Tattered Angels sprays.  To finish she was matted on other papers and corner pieces were added along with pearls and other accents.  Thanks for looking at my glittery creation. ;)

Syren Of The Sea Tag

Hi again,
I wanted to share my pretty little Syren Of The Sea this week.  This image is from The Greeting Farm rubber stamps and as soon as it was listed I bought it. ;)  I can't wait to do her in my plexi-glass with glitter decorations / keychains.

~ The Details ~
She was stamped in Azure Staz-On ink and the water colored, glittered and then cut out.  The tag was sprayed with Tattered Angels - Fully Purple spray.  Next I hot fixed deep blue sea and sky blue nail heads all around the outside of the tag -- you can purchase the nail heads here at my friend David's store Stuff By David http://stores.ebay.com/stuffbydavid?_rdc=1  Then I added pieces of white magic mesh to the tag and popped up Syren and put her on the tag along with some seaweed (pieces from artificial pine branches) and shells.  I then added all kinds of Rox's by Judith and tiny beadies to the bottom of the tag and around the outer edges along with some little baby shells. To finish it I put different types of ribbon and fibers through the top of the tag and put a aqua brad in the center and one of my pretty pins in the top.  Hope you like her and thanks for checking out my latest glittery creation. ;)
