Nature's Beauty Having Sweet Dreams -- In A Sweet Pea Dream -- Ribbons & Bows -- Challenge # 8

Hi everyone :) I hope you all had a great holiday season!! I look forward to a new year with lots of crafty things to make and techniques to learn --not to mention stamps and products to buy lol ;)  This was another one of those stamps that I simply had to have.  This image is Sweet Dreams and it was colored with watercolor pencils and then glittered with pearl glitters on her dress and her lips (done with a toothpick) her hair, wings and water droplets were done with transparent glitter from Art Institute to make them stand out. I also added glossy accents to the water droplets and the snails body. The mouse was flocked with light brown and white flock to make him look more realistic. I added the papers, nature's beauty accent and the blue gumdrops, as I call them along with the blue bow to finish it.(I love the color of this blue) Hope you like it and thanks for looking :)

  1. OH MY Goodness! I do not have the words to describe how much I love a lot of your work. Wow!!! Couple of questions for you. How do you get such beautiful - smooth - flowing - seamless coloring and shading???? I stumbled onto your site a little while back - actually ordered (your stamps) from online (normally do not do that) and am in love. Looking at your "Stamps on Sale - limited time" - I could not find the Christmas angel that is shown as the sale icon on the main page. I hope you know what I am talking about. There are ornaments from the tree limbs and she is with a dove. Is that stamp the $2.25 shown or where is it to order? Thank you again.

  2. Hi Marsha,
Thank-you for all your kind words :) I love Sweet Pea's stamps - they are really the only stamps I buy anymore lol. To answer your question I would say it just took me time and practice with the shading and coloring. I like the watercolor pencils because you color with them first and then you use the watercolor brush to blend your colors. (but if you need to you can go back and add more color with the pencils and you can even take color away with the brush if you need to.) I just go over the image after I am done with the watercolor brush to make sure it is all blended well. I also have a lot of patience with the glitter, which can get tricky sometimes. I am not quite positive which stamp you are talking about. If you go to the sale page there is the one from Nikki Burnette called "Neva" with the dove and the ornaments in the tree, that one is $2.25 you would just click order to order that one. Now is a great time to buy them with the sale on for 25% off. I just bought more myself -- it is too hard to resist and there are too many I like lol. If you need any more help let me know I will be more than happy to help you with any questions you have. :)
Thanks again for all your wonderful comments,
